Real Madrid have announced that their star forward Kylian Mbappe has extended his contract until the summer of 2028.

The 21-year-old, who joined the club from Monaco in 2017, has been one of the standout performers for Los Blancos this season and has already scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions.

Mbappe's decision to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu is a major boost for the Spanish giants, who are currently top of La Liga and in the running for the Champions League title.

In a statement released by Real Madrid, the club said: "We are delighted to announce that Kylian Mbappe has signed a new contract with the club until June 30, 2028."

"We want to thank him for his commitment and desire to continue playing for us," they added.

Mbappe's decision to extend his stay at Real Madrid comes just days after he was named in France's squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

The striker will be hoping to help Les Bleus secure a place in the knockout stages of the tournament, which starts on November 21.

Mbappe has already scored two goals in three games for France this year, including a hat-trick against Liechtenstein in October.

His performances for both club and country have made him one of the most sought-after players in world football, and it seems that he has no intention of leaving the Bernabeu anytime soon.
